Jonathan dos Santos open to reuniting with older brother Giovani

Jonathan Dos Santos - Mexico - isolated

Jonathan dos Santos is not promising an immediate family reunion at the StubHub Center, but he definitely wants to play alongside his MLS-based brother again.

Rumors have been swirling about the LA Galaxy wanting to sign dos Santos as a Designated Player in recent days, and the Mexican midfielder touched on the matter of potentially joining his older brother Giovani dos Santos in an interview with Marca-Claro on Wednesday. The younger dos Santos said he's content with where he is at right now, but that he would like to play with his sibling again in North America.

"Right now I'm good at Villarreal, but in soccer you never know what's going to happen," Jonathan dos Santos, 26, told Marca-Claro. "I would love to go to Mexico or to the United States, always alongside my brother. Our dream is to make history on a team, both of us together."

The dos Santos brothers, who are separated by less than a year in age, are no strangers to playing alongside one another. Apart from growing up and kicking the ball around together, they have been teammates on Mexico's national team, in Barcelona's youth system and at Villarreal.

Jonathan has made 15 La Liga appearances for Villarreal this season, scoring twice.
