The Seattle Sounders embrace the city and their fan base in their new primary and secondary jerseys unveiled on Wednesday.
The club revealed their new look at a Cinerama event as part of MLS Jersey Week, during which 12 MLS clubs are unveiling new jerseys ahead of the new MLS season which kicks off on March 2. Both kits, which have reduced fabric weight by 27 percent,

The new-look first kit is an even simpler version of the rave green home jersey of recent seasons with one twist: The iconic Seattle Space Needle is featured on the front right chest as well as on the back.

"The primary jersey is a step back to a more traditional pretty basic one," said adidas product manager Mike Walker. "But it's really clean. Rave green and capital blue. It has an embossed Space Needle motif on it and then it has the Space Needle on the back That's about it. It's pretty clean."
The secondary jersey is a variation on the shale color jersey the club has featured in the past. However, this edition has a vertical stripe running down the left side in a mosaic meant to "emphasize the team's unique and diverse fan base," according to a club press release.
"The secondary kit is a traditional look with a vertical stripe that runs underneath the crest," Walker said. "We've taken the green and blue and mixed them together with the soundwave design to give the traditional look a modern twist."
The Sounders have indicated that their super cyan kit, which debuted in 2012, will continue to be used for Champions League, US Open Cup and friendly matches.
