Ever since their first season back in 1998, there's always been a hint of blue in the Chicago Fire's predominantly red home kits.
There's going to be plenty more in 2014.
On Tuesday, the club unveiled its new primary kit for the 2014 season at its annual kickoff luncheon and the new look stands out for the dark blue across the chest and down the sleeve, similar to the color used in the Fire's alternate road kit. The blue gets a few shades lighter behind the Quaker jersey sponsor logo.
The other details of the new shirt include a team badge with a 3-D feel (lenticular crest) and the Chicago city flag on the inside neck tape. On the back is a Fire "C" with the words "honor," "passion," and "tradition."
