James called up by Trinidad & Tobago

D.C. United announced Friday that Julius James has been called-up by the Trinidad and Tobago National Team for the team's final two World Cup Qualifiers. Trinidad and Tobago will play at Costa Rica on October 10 and finish at home against Mexico on October 14. Because of the schedule, James will not miss any D.C. United matches.

The defender has three caps with his country's senior squad, earning his first in September of 2008. James also played for the Trinidad and Tobago U-17 squad that played in the 2001 U-17 FIFA World Championship. James has made 10 appearances, including nine starts, for United since coming over from the Houston Dynamo on August 14. He has played 796 total minutes for the Black-and-Red.

D.C. United will play the final two home games of the season on October 3 against Chivas USA and October 17 against the Columbus Crew. The team will then travel to Toluca for their final CONCACAF Champions League group stage game on October 20 and will round out MLS regular season play at Kansas City on October 24.
