How did former Italian international Giuseppe Rossi navigate to LAFC for a trial thanks to a connection with Bob Bradley? Well, it all started at youth soccer camps in New Jersey.
Rossi was born in New Jersey, the same year as Bradley's son and Toronto FC midfielder Michael Bradley was. Rossi and the younger Bradley featured at a few camps together before the latter moved to Italy to join the Parma academy.
Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times talked to Bradley about how Rossi ended up at LAFC's training camp.
“He called me and he was still trying to figure out the next chapter in his career,” Bradley told Baxter. “The only way you can do it is to have a few days around here and then get a picture of what he’s doing, how he’s playing, how he’s fitting in and for him to see what’s going on.”
