Houston Dynamo to hold third annual Dynamo Girls auditions

HOUSTON, TX --
The Dynamo Girls, the official dance team of the Houston Dynamo, are holding auditions for their 2009 squad beginning this Saturday, February 7, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Auditions will be held at 24-Hour Fitness, located at 6425 San Felipe St.

Since 2007, the Dynamo Girls have had more than 300 girls register for their tryouts. The Dynamo Girls appeared at more than 125 different community appearances last year, held their first Junior Dynamo Camp, and danced at every home game to add to the Dynamo game-day experience. The Dynamo Girls will continue to serve as ambassadors for the club in the community.

Leading the girls for the third straight season will be Marilu Amador Harman, a former dancer for the NBA's Dallas Mavericks, who directed and created the Houston Rockets Power Dancers. She will be assisted by Shelby Alexander, a former dancer and captain for the Houston Rockets Power Dancers, who also directed for the Golden State Warriors in 2000.

"It's so wonderful to be able to be a part of such an awesome organization," Alexander said. "I had the pleasure of working with the Dynamo Girls last season and enjoyed every minute of the experience. I know this season will be just as rewarding."

Media are invited to attend the tryouts from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. More details are available at www.HoustonDynamo.com.
