A week after Landon Donovanwon the MLS Player of the Week award with a hat-trick performance, LA Galaxy teammate Robbie Keane did exactly the same.
Keane took home the Week 25 honors after scoring three times in the Galaxy's 4-2 triumph over Real Salt Lake this past Saturday, a result that brought LA within four points of the Western Conference leaders. (See how the North American Soccer Reporters voted here.)
All of Keane's finishes came in the second half. The Irish international pulled the Galaxy level with a low curler that was perfectly placed in the 56th minute, finished off a Sean Franklin cross in the 67th to put his club ahead for good, and sealed his dominant performance with a flick over Nick Rimando four minutes before the final whistle.
