If you haven't heard about Christian Pulisic yet, you will soon enough.
The talented 17-year-old Borussia Dortmund playmaker is the sole US representative on the Guardian's “Next Generation 2015: 50 of the best young talents in world football” list, a rundown of the planet's most promising up-and-coming players.
“The young No. 10 is small and slight,” writes the Guardian's Tim Hill, “but has skill in spades – witness the elastic dribble in a USA Under-17 game against Trinidad & Tobago in March that brought his tricks to a wider audience – as well as serious self-belief. He is now on the books of Borussia Dortmund and expectations are lofty.”
A US U-17 national teamer and Bradenton Residency Program alum from Hershey, Pennsylvania, Pulisic has steadily risen through the ranks at the German powerhouse and is seen as one of the top American prospects of his generation.
Sporting Kansas City defender Erik Palmer-Brown was named to last year's edition of the list, while Mexican prospects Pablo Lopez and Ulises Torres are this year's only other CONCACAF players.
