Mexico defender Carlos Salcido is confident his side will build on their lead at the top of the Group Two table when they host Jamaica in the World Cup qualifiers.
Sven Goran Eriksson's team were the only country to get maximum points in the first round of fixtures as they beat Honduras last month to leave them two points clear of the 'Reggae Boyz' and Canada - who they face on Wednesday.
"We play both games at home and we have the responsibility of winning both of them" said Salcido. "We can't let the three points escape as that could give us an important advantage in the future."
The match should have been played in Kingston, but Hurricane Gustav has seen FIFA reschedule the clash and it will now be held at the legendary Azteca stadium.
Group Two's other encounter sees Canada welcome Honduras and Julian de Guzman insists the hosts are focused on collecting all three points.
"The only thing we have in our minds is a win," he said. "We're not going to this game in a panic mode. No one should panic at the moment."
Traditional differences will be put to one side in Group One as the United States play Cuba in Havana for the first time in 61 years.
"It's been a very long time since that last game," said USA coach Bob Bradley. It's going to be a unique experience and one we're all looking forward to.
"But we must not forget that we have to stay focused and understand just how important this match is in terms of World Cup qualifying."
The USA have a great record on Caribbean soil with a 14-year undefeated spell, including 23 wins, and they will be keen to preserve that record.
Trinidad and Tobago host Guatemala in the group's other clash.
Elsewhere, Group Three sees Costa Rica meet Surinam and El Salvador face Haiti.
Villaluz drafted in for Mexico
MEXICO -- Mexico coach Sven Goran Eriksson has called Cesar Villaluz into his squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Jamaica and Canada.
The Cruz Azul midfielder was added as a replacement for the injured Leandro Augusto, his first call-up since the Swede took over at the helm.
"I kept working. As a player I wanted to be there, so I had to continue the hard work to be in a good shape," he said.
"Now, I want to take advantage of this chance. I am vey happy. This is every player's dream and a new phase of my career."
