TIBAS - Saprissa and Costa Rica defender Gabriel Badilla is on the verge of joining MLS side the New England Revolution.
The Revs' initial offer for the 23-year-old did not meet Saprissa's valuation, but the two clubs are now looking to reach a compromise.
Saprissa vice-president Mariano Varela told newspaper Extra: "They offered an amount of money. We've planned another. Now we hope we can come to a deal that suits both clubs.
"The amount of money we want is higher than New England's offer, but it should not be an obstacle to a deal."
Badilla, who represented his country at the 2006 World Cup, would relish the chance to play abroad after more than five seasons in the Costa Rican league.
"For any player, the opportunity to play abroad is always good. We'll be patient," he said.
