Philadelphia Union midfielder Fred has four goals and an assist this year. But in Week 29, it was his defense that earned him accolades.
The Brazilian's goal-line clearance off a Juan Agudelo header in extratime of the Union's 2-1 win over the New York Red Bulls was named the NAPA Save of the Week.
Fred took the honors with 43 percent of the vote, beating out Chivas USA keeper Zach Thornton, who finished with 17 percent.
