Former US youth international, FC Dallas goalkeeper Josh Lambo gunning for NFL career | SIDELINE

Josh Lambo is spending the season on loan at the second division Tampa Bay Rowdies.

Josh Lambo is hoping to take his football career swap to the professional level.

He’s the former US youth international goalkeeper, selected eighth overall by FC Dallas in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft, who began kicking for the Texas A&M college football team in 2012 after his pro career fizzled and he was waived by FCD in 2011. Now after three years of kicking for the Aggies, Lambo is going through the NFL Scouting Combine – his second professional combine – in the hopes of being taken in yet another draft.

“It would be a huge blessing (to play in the NFL) and be a very, very cool thing to put up on my resume and potentially join a pretty elite list of players and great athletes,” Lambo told MiamiDolphins.com. “It’s awesome to have a chance to get back on a national platform as far as athletically. I’m looking forward to it.”

Lambo was 13 for 15 on field goals this past season for Texas A&M and perfect (59 for 59) on extra points. His performance at the combine will be fairly important, as well, with most analysts putting him as a borderline pick in the NFL Draft on April 30-May 2.

“I went to the MLS combine back in 2008 and this is just a little bit different,” Lambo said. “It’s been good. It’s been a good experience, meeting a lot of good people and just getting exposure to what the NFL is really like.”
