Bridgeview, Ill. - The FireWorks for Kids Foundation, the Chicago Fire's non-profit arm that helps serve the local community's underprivileged youth, announced Thursday that Ellen and Andrew Hauptman have made a $50,000 gift to the foundation. Mr. Hauptman is the owner and chairman of the Chicago Fire. He also serves as chairman and CEO of Andell Holdings, a private investment firm and family office, which he controls along with his wife.
It was also announced that The Anschutz Family Foundation, which is aligned with former Fire owner Phillip Anschutz, made a matching gift of $50,000 to the foundation.
"Ellen and I strongly believe that the Chicago Fire has an obligation to serve the community and give back to those in need. The FireWorks for Kids Foundation has provided tremendous service and opportunity to underprivileged youth for more than a decade. We hope our gift, along with the generous support provided by the Anschutz family, will help ensure that the foundation's good works will continue for some time to come," said Mr. Hauptman.
