2020 MLS Regular Season – Week 1
FC Dallas vs. Philadelphia Union
Toyota Stadium – Frisco
February 29 – 6:00 PM ET
STREAMING: MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US, on DAZN in Canada
Two clubs that played postseason soccer last fall will look to start even deeper MLS Cup Playoff runs when they square off Saturday at Toyota Stadium, with FC Dallas set to host the Philadelphia Union.
Team #PlayYourKids excelled during Luchi Gonzalez's first season at FC Dallas, with Paxton Pomykal and Jesus Ferreira both coming off big 2019 seasons. They're joined by Michael Barrios and newcomer Fafa Picault, who's primed to make his FC Dallas debut against his former side. Franco Jara also arrives at forward, but not until the summer when he's expected to become the focal point of the club's attack.
The Union made a big step forward in 2019 by winning their first playoff game, but that's raised expectations in the City of Brotherly Love. A core of the team from the best season in club history returns, including midfielder Jamiro Monteiro, who was signed after his loan was over. Kacper Przybylko was one of the biggest surprises at forward in 2019, and Alejandro Bedoya returns as the team's heartbeat.
