Better late than never for FC Dallas forward Zdenek Ondrasek, who continued his stellar debut international window for Czech Republic by setting up two goals in a 3-2 friendly loss to Northern Ireland on Monday.
The 30-year-old came off the bench at halftime in the match, with the Czechs down 3-0 in Prague behind a brace from Paddy McNair and a goal by Jonny Evans. He set up two goals in two minutes, starting with Vladimir Darida's strike in the 67th minute before Alex Kral narrowed the deficit to one a minute later.
The two-assist night comes on the heels of Ondrasek's debut for the Czech Republic, in which he scored in his first senior appearance to beat England in a 2020 Euro qualifier on Friday.
Perhaps this is a good omen for FC Dallas, with Ondrasek, who tallied seven goals and two assists in 17 appearances this season, most of those coming at the end of the season, when he hit a run of form. FC Dallas will visit the Seattle Sounders on Oct. 19 in Round One of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs (3:30 pm ET | FOX Sports TBD in US; TVAS/TSN App in Canada).
