The 2016 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup final between FC Dallas and New England Revolution will be played on Tuesday, September 13, with kick off set for 10 pm ET. The match will be broadcast nationally in the United States on ESPN2 and Univision Deportes Network for the second straight year.
FC Dallas will host the final at Toyota Stadium by virtue of finishing ahead of the Revolution in the Hosting Priority Draw, held on July 21 at Soccer House in Chicago.
The winners will also receive a berth in the 2017-18 CONCACAF Champions League.
The two sides enter the championship match after pulling off exciting wins in the semifinals last week. New England got goals from Kei Kamara, Je-Vaughn Watson and Teal Bunbury in a 3-1 win over the Chicago Fire on August 9. The next day, Dallas pulled off a 2-1 comeback win in added extratime over the LA Galaxy, thanks to late strikes from Matt Hedges and Victor Ulloa.
This year's USOC final is a rematch of the 2007 final, in which the Revolution defeated FCD, 3-2, to claim their only major trophy to date. FCD have won the Open Cup once, in 1997, when they defeated D.C. United on penalties.
