FC Dallas have made a move to bolster their defense, announcing they have acquired Walter Cabrera on loan from Paraguayan team General Diaz.
The move, pending receipt of the player's P-1 visa, brings a player capable of playing at both center back and outside back to Dallas. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“Walter is a young player who fits very well into our style of play,” said FC Dallas head coach Oscar Pareja in a statement. “He was part of the squad that helped General Diaz gain promotion into the first division in 2012.
"The Paraguayan Primera Division is a very physical and competitive league. He has the experience to be a champion already and we are happy to have a player who is willing to continue his growth with us here in Dallas.”
