No Kellyn Acosta. No Matt Hedges. No problem for FC Dallas.
Despite two of their top players being with the US national team, Dallas were able to beat the top team in MLS 3-1 at Toyota Stadium on Saturday night. Toronto FC were also missing a few of their regular starters and fall behind the Chicago Fire in the Supporters' Shield standings with the loss and Chicago's 4-0 win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
Roland Lamah was the star of the show, scoring Dallas' first two goals after some stellar passing from Maynor Figueroa, Maxi Urruti and Mauro Diaz. Urruti provided the capper, going top shelf to score his 10th goal of the season. Marky Delgado scored the lone goal for Toronto.

Three Things
- LAMAH'S ANSWER: Roland Lamah has come under criticism this season, with some of it deserved, but it’s clear he can be a special player at times in this league. His two goals were well taken, with his second one displaying the composure that is needed to be a consistent goalscorer.
- TFC TRIBULATIONS: No one would blame Toronto from having a bit of a hangover after their Canadian Championship win on Tuesday night against the Montreal Impact. Greg Vanney’s team was not the sharpest after having to travel down to Texas and were also without some key contributors in Victor Vazquez, Justin Morrow, Raheem Edwards and Steven Beitashour. They will try to regain their spot atop the Shield standings on Wednesday night in Orlando.
- MAXI-MIZING HIS CHANCE: Cristian Colman was brought in to be the star striker for a Dallas team that has been without one since Blas Perez. The incumbent, Maxi Urruti, was coming off a season where he scored nine goals and needed to prove why he deserved to keep his spot. He has done that so far this season, already outpacing his 2016 total with his 10th goal of the season. With this kind of play it’s clear that the starting forward spot is under lock and key in Frisco.
