Reid, Mike and Jason are joined by Patreon supporter and top 10 MLS Fantasy player Alex Bruni to go over all of the excitement from and preview the last great DGW for the 2017 season. With 16 teams playing a double this week, the episode is a little longer, but we break things down team by team to help you find the players to target. Alex also shares his favorite resources that have helped him be in the top 10, 3 of the hosts talk about their failed switcheroos, and we find out how Mike really feels about Patrick Mullins.
We’re down to the final four rounds of MLS Fantasy, which means the upcoming transfer decisions for fantasy managers is becoming more and more crucial. Round 30 features the last big double-game week of the season, and with nine of the eleven players in last round’s Dream Team being on DGW teams, it only makes sense to look at the DGW players who are in the best form for this round.

If you can afford him, Stefan Frei has been a beast in goal since Round 20, amassing almost six points per game via four shutouts and only one round with more than one goal conceded. If you’re looking to save money for a DGW goalkeeper in form, Andrew Tarbell is your man. The San Jose Earthquakes play two home matches this week, and Tarbell has started in the Quakes’ last seven matches.

Chad Marshall has led the way since Round 20, but since he is dealing with a lingering hamstring issue, it might be safer to pick Roman Torres if you want Seattle Sounders defensive cover this week. Leandro Gonzalez Pirez has been a beast for Atlanta United, leading them to four clean sheets out of their last five home matches. If you’re looking for a cheap, reliable defender, Jack Elliott has an advantage over the other bargain defenders on this list, as the Philadelphia Union play one of their two matches at home this week.

This week, midfielder isn’t the position where you want to look at bargains. All of the guys above have been producing huge numbers over the last several weeks. Diego Valeri ($12.1, POR) only has one game this week, but if you’re going to get a single-game week player, he’s your guy. As Charles Boehm aptly put it: he just cannot stop scoring.

With position-leader David Villa coming off a recent adductor injury and New York City FC playing both matches on the road, the forward selection process gets a little bit trickier this week. Many managers are likely to stick with Josef Martinez after he bagged eight goals in only four games over the past couple weeks. Anthony Jackson-Hamel is an intriguing budget option at only $5.2: he’s started the past four matches, and the Montreal Impact have scored a boatload of goals over the past few rounds.
