Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month (September 2015)
Didier Drogba is no stranger to dominating the competition. The rest of September's candidates for the Etihad Airways Player of the Month are being reminded of that the hard way.
Drogba is cruising to a win for the accolade after collecting nearly half of the total amount of votes cast so far. The Montreal Impact forward has won 44.27 percent, which should lead to him winning September's Etihad Airways Player of the Month award barring a turnaround of epic proportions.
Right now, Obafemi Martins is in second place (25.56 percent), and he is followed by Sebastian Giovinco (13.94%), Lee Nguyen (8.2%), and Kei Kamara (8.03%).
While Drogba has a healthy lead because of his seven-goal, one-assist month, there is still time to change how this race finishes. Voting remains open until Friday, Oct. 2 at 10 am ET.
