NEW YORK - Building on its effort to serve the Hispanic sports fan, ESPN Deportes Radio, the only around-the-clock national Spanish-language sports radio network, will offer exclusive national broadcast of the 2006 edition of InterLiga, the qualifying tournament that will determine two automatic berths for Mexican clubs to the Copa Libertadores.
InterLiga 2006 will feature eight Mexican League teams as they face off to secure a place in the 2006 edition of Copa Libertadores. The eight teams participating in InterLiga 2006 were selected based on their combined record in previous seasons of the Mexican domestic league. The top eight squads using this criteria include: Group A - Monterrey, Morelia, Pachuca and Veracruz; Group B: CD Guadalajara, Cruz Azul, Necaxa and Tigres.

"The acquisition of InterLiga 2006 bolsters ESPN Deportes Radio's already strong roster of Mexican soccer programming that also includes coverage of all the Chivas de Guadalajara home matches."
Under the terms of the agreement, ESPN Deportes Radio will be the exclusive radio broadcaster of InterLiga 2006 in the U.S. ESPN Deportes Radio will broadcast all the matches, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4 - Sunday, Jan. 15. ESPN Deportes Radio will offer a unique broadcast for each game, featuring Spanish-language play-by-play, analysis and interviews.
ESPN Deportes Radio offers a variety of sports talk programming and events, as well as exclusive, national Spanish-language broadcasts of Major League Baseball's All-Star Game, League Championship Series, and World Series.
ESPN Deportes Radio has affiliates in Los Angeles, San Diego, Fresno, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Tucson, Bakersfield, Yuma-El Centro, Reno and Boston and is also available on Sirius Satellite Radio.
