TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
Columbus Crew SC continue to round out their roster ahead of the 2021 MLS season, announcing Friday that they’ve signed goalkeeper Eric Dick after selecting him in Stage Two of the 2020 Re-Entry Draft
Dick, 26, originally entered MLS in 2018 after being picked by Sporting Kansas City in that year’s SuperDraft. He started one game during the 2019 season, which marks his sole MLS appearance to date.
“We are pleased to welcome Eric to Columbus,” Crew SC president and general manager Tim Bezbatchenko said in a club release. “After earning beneficial USL Championship experience over the last few years, we look forward to working with him to continue his development as a goalkeeper.”
A former Butler University goalkeeper, Dick spent last season on loan at Phoenix Rising in the USL Championship. He’s also played in the second division with FC Tulsa and Sporting Kansas City II.
Dick’s signing gives Columbus four goalkeepers on their first-team roster after they won MLS Cup in 2020. Eloy Room is their starter, with the Curacao international joining during the 2019 campaign from PSV Eindhoven.
