Dynamo mourn tragic loss of Brian Holden

The Dynamo family is saddened by the loss of Brian Holden, father of midfielder Stuart Holden.

The Dynamo organization is deeply saddened by the loss of Brian Holden, the father of midfielder Stuart Holden. Brian Holden died on Monday just short of his 56th birthday after a brave, six-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

The entire organization, including coaches, players, and front office staff, would like to express its support for Stuart and his family, who have been a part of the organization since its move to Houston in 2005-06. The Dynamo will observe a moment of silence in Brian Holden's honor before Tuesday's CONCACAF Champions League match against Atlante FC at Robertson Stadium.

A private celebration of Brian Holden's life will be held on Friday, February 20, in Sugar Land.

In lieu of flowers, the Holden family has requested that donations be made to cancer research through Dynamo Charities. 100 percent of all donations made will go directly to cancer research.
