Dynamo Charities is partnering with the U.S. Soccer Foundation to collect donations of gently used soccer equipment at the Houston Dynamo's game against the Chicago Fire on Sunday, August 9, at Robertson Stadium. The equipment will be donated to underprivileged youth soccer teams and clubs throughout the Greater Houston and Galveston areas.
Equipment donations will be taken at the Dynamo Charities tent during Amigo Energy SoccerFest, located on the east side (Cullen Blvd. side) of Robertson Stadium. Gently used shoes, shin guards, uniforms, socks, soccer balls, soccer bags, or any other kind of soccer equipment will be accepted. Collected items will be redistributed to local organizations in need of youth soccer equipment. Anyone who donates an item will have their name put in a drawing for an autographed Dynamo team ball.
The Passback program is a joint effort between Dynamo Charities, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, Eurosport, and Major League Soccer to help meet youth soccer equipment needs of communities, regardless of income, gender, or location. Since its inception, the program has grown enormously, and thousands of pieces of equipment have been collected and distributed to schools, clubs, and youth organizations across the nation.
Dynamo Charities would like to thank Gina Ciancone, a senior at Clear Lake High School, for being the driving force behind this program. For more information, please contact gciancone@yahoo.com or lstutt@houstondynamo.com.
