SANTA ANA, Calif.- LA Galaxy midfielder David Beckham brightened up the day of hundreds of patients at Children's Hospital of Orange County with a visit early Tuesday morning. Beckham was at the Santa Ana-located medical facility for a fundraiser being hosted by 102.7 KIIS-FM, one of LA's more popular music stations.

While Beckham's first order of business was to do an on-air interview with host Ryan Seacrest, prior to his arrival Beckham called ahead and asked the popular American Idol host if he wanted anything from Starbucks.

"Not only a good looking guy, successful guy and an athlete, but also courteous," Seacrest said on air. "(Beckham) calls and asks us what we want from Starbucks."

The footballer's main reason for being here was the children, and after chatting with Seacrest, Ellen K and the rest of the morning show gang, in the Radio Lollipop studios at CHOC, Becks headed straight to meet with a group of children. The kids' faces immediately lit up upon coming face-to-face with the soccer star.

One more interview and then Beckham headed straight up to visit with more children in the hospital. He went from ward to ward for more than an hour before coming down. When he came back down to the lobby, the midfielder crossed paths with recording artist Shakira, who's latest single "She Wolf" is racing up the charts. The duo concluded their meet up by posing for a photo and Shakira giving Beckham a gift- two toy wolves.

"Nothing compares to doing things like this," Beckham said. "It's hard to see where they how they get their strength, but kids are stronger than you think and to see that is incredible. This is what I enjoy doing, this is what I love doing and it's a big passion of mine. It's been a great morning."

After doing more interviews, Beckham posed for photos and signed autographs for members of the hospital's staff before leaving.

Seacrest was very appreciative that Beckham took time from his schedule to come down and hang out with the children and staff members of CHOC.

"I was so thrilled when I heard David was going to come down here and hang out with these kids," Seacrest said. "By seeing what he did, in the hours that he spent here, you can see that he is not only a great dad, but a great guy and a terrific athlete."
