Concacaf unveiled the final seeding for the upcoming 2020 Concacaf Champions League draw, scheduled for Monday at 9 pm ET in Mexico City.
All five MLS teams involved in the 2020 tournament have been seeded into Pot 1, alongside three of the Liga MX qualifiers. The fourth Mexican outfit, Club Leon, goes into Pot 2, alongside qualifiers from Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Jamaica. This means the MLS teams will not face each other in the opening round, although one could be drawn against Leon to open the competition.
The draw will feature a double-blind system and four pots. Pots 1 and 2 will contain the names of the 16 participating clubs, while Pots A and B will contain the sixteen possible bracket positions for the first round of the competition.
The current format for the CCL is a knockout tournament, beginning in the spring. Teams will play a home-and-away series in each round, en route to the final. Among MLS teams, Atlanta United, Montreal Impact and Seattle Sounders are veterans to the competition, while LAFC and NYCFC will be participating for the first time in their respective histories.
Monday's draw will be televised on TUDN in the United States and TSN in Canada.
