Due to lightning in the area of MAPFRE Stadium, the Week 5 match between Columbus Crew SC and Atlanta United on Saturday experienced a weather delay that lasted 56 minutes.
The action resumed at 9:05 pm ET with a dropped ball as prescribed by the guidelines.
At the time of the stoppage in the 31st minute, Crew SC were leading the match 1-0 on the first goal of the season by Pedro Santos. The delay went into effect at 8:09 pm ET.
Crew SC went on to win the game 2-0 as the rain continued to pour after the delay.
