It’s anyone’s guess how the first leg of the Eastern Conference Championship series between Columbus Crew SC and the New York Red Bulls will play out this Sunday, but one things for certain: MAPRFRE Stadium will be rocking.
Crew SC announced on Thursday that MAPFRE Stadium is officially sold out for Sunday’s match (5 pm ET; ESPN and ESPN Deportes in the US; TSNGo in Canada; SiriusXM 85). The game, which will feature additional seating via installation of temporary bleachers on the MAPFRE Stadium stage, will break the record for largest single-game postseason crowd in Crew SC history.
Sunday’s match will be the sixth sellout of the year at MAPFRE Stadium, marking a new club record for most combined regular season and playoff sellouts in one season.
The second leg of the series is also sold out, with the Red Bulls announcing earlier on Thursday that the Nov. 29 series decider will be played in front of a capacity crowd at Red Bull Arena.
