Christian Pulisic made history on Thursday, becoming the youngest man to ever be named US Soccer Male Player of the Year after picking up the 2017 honor.

Pulisic's award, coming at age 19, bests Landon Donovan's first Male Player of the Year award in 2003 at age 21.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder won the honor in a landslide, with 94 percent of the votes, from a voting pool of US national team players who earned a cap in 2017, USMNT and US youth national team coaches, Major League Soccer, North American Soccer League and United Soccer League head coaches, as well as select former players, administrators and media members.

Pulisic scored three goals and three assists across all competitions for Dortmund in his first full senior season with the German giant. He played in the Champions League and helped Dortmund win the DFB Pokal, or German domestic cup, in the summer. In nine games with the USMNT in 2017, he scored six goals.
