CARSON, Calif. — The rumors have intensified with every loss lately, but Chivas USA head coach José Luis “El Chelís” Sánchez Solá is not worried about the rampant speculation regarding his job status.
“I see the glass full,” a smiling Chelís told MLSsoccer.com on Friday. “We’ve played 11 matches, amassed 11 points and they’ve been hard-fought. Only those that have been here know the circumstances we’ve dealt with these past 11 weeks. It’s obvious that those who make the decisions don’t know those circumstances. We’ve done a lot here and brought something that wasn’t here in December.
“The rest of the situation has me carefree. I’m an employee and nothing more.”
Chivas USA take on the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night (9 pm ET, MLS Live).

After a strong start to the season, the Rojiblancos have lost five of their past six matches, scoring only three goals over that span. Forward Juan Agudelo, who was traded to New England in early May in exchange for allocation money, is still the Goats’ leading scorer despite missing his final three matches as a member of the club.
Sunday’s 4-1 home loss to Real Salt Lake extended their winless streak to six games.
“Of course we’d all like to have more,” Chelís said. “We’ve done what we can with what we have, and for that I am very, very proud.”
Despite the lack of reinforcements, Chelís said he’s not giving up on the season.
“A coach is never satisfied with what he has,” he said. “He should never be content. … I’m not complaining. I’m very happy.”
