CARSON, Calif. - Chivas USA opens its 2006 preseason training camp this Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. PT at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California. Led by new Head Coach Bob Bradley, the Los Angeles-based Major League Soccer club will begin preseason training with such returning players as Francisco 'Paco' Palencia, Ramón Ramírez, Juan Pablo García, Ezra Hendrickson, Francisco Gómez, Orlando Pérez and Arturo Torres, as well as new signings such as Brain Dunseth and Jesse Marsch, in preparation for the team's second MLS campaign.
As part of its preseason, the Red-and-white will play a series of scrimmages against Loyola Marymount University, UCLA, MetroStars, Chicago Fire, Columbus Crew and the Los Angeles Galaxy, among others. Accompanying Bradley will be Chivas USA's new Assistant Coach Preki, one of the most distinguished and spectacular players in the history of MLS, alongside returning Assistant Coach Martín Vásquez. In addition, Zak Abdel has joined Chivas USA as the club's new Goalkeeper Coach.
Chivas USA, Major League Soccer's Mexican-owned, Los Angeles-based franchise, kicks off its second campaign in MLS on April 2, 2006 at 4:00 p.m. PT versus Real Salt Lake at The Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
