Chivas USA and the City of Bell Gardens to hold longest soccer game on record in the United States

CARSON, Calif. - Major League Soccer team Chivas USA, and its 501(c)3 charitable foundation, the 'Fundación Chivas de Corazon USA', together with the City of Bell Gardens, has announced the first-ever '100-Hour Soccer Game', featuring teams representing Chivas and the Rest of the World, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of Chivas USA's sister club in Mexico, Club Deportivo Guadalajara.


The game, which at 100 hours of nonstop soccer will be the longest on record in the United States, will take place at the new Bell Gardens Sports Center, in the city of Bell Gardens, California, from Wednesday, August 9 at 1:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 13, at 5:00 p.m. Participation is free and is open to teams of players between 8 and 100 years of age. The uninterrupted match between teams representing 'Chivas' and the 'Rest of the World' will feature the participation of the Chivas USA first team, its coaching staff, the ChivaGirls, employees, managers, and ex-players from Club Guadalajara, as well as celebrities, elected officials, members of the press, and representative teams from soccer academies, leagues, associations and clubs. There will be live music and entertainment during the event, as well as authentic Mexican food.


The 'Fundación Chivas de Corazón USA', Chivas USA's 501(c)3 charitable foundation, was founded to serve the great Los Angeles community through the creation and support of various initiatives, events and organizations that provide educational and recreational opportunities for children, especially underprivileged youth.


Chivas USA and the City of Bell Gardens have joined forces in the new $10 million Bell Gardens Sports Center. The complex, located at 8000 Park Lane, Bell Gardens, CA, 90201, includes four soccer fields, two of which have artificial turf, and will serve the youth of this city of more than 44,000 inhabitants, located in the heart of Southern California.
