TEAM NEWS
• Brad Knighton made his sixth league start of the campaign, his first since May 16, when Matt Reis was unable to play because of a knee injury. The Revolution have conceded 14 goals in Knighton's six matches between the posts.

• "You prep all week for a game, try to get ready for it. We knew they were going to come out firing because they had to win this game; they have to win games to get into the playoffs," Knighton said. "We knew they were going to come out firing and we knew we had to match that. Unfortunately, we were unable to do that tonight and they capitalized on it in the first 20 minutes"

• The Revolution lost for just the second time in nine games. Even after going a man down, they staged a fightback that twice saw them pull to within a goal. Their only other loss since July 4, a 2-1 reversal by the LA Galaxy, also saw a late comeback from a two-goal deficit fall short.

• "(Joseph's red card) did not help the situation, but we were trying to keep it manageable until halftime and then come in here, make a couple of changes and go back out and show everybody the real team that we were and the character that we have on this team," Knighton said. "I thought we did that in the second half."

• The Revolution come into the weekend in fourth place in the Eastern Conference, but still holding onto a place in MLS Cup Playoffs for the moment on tiebreakers. The Chivas trip starts a run of four of the next five league games away from Gillette Stadium.

• "It would have been nice to have three more points here, but that's just the way the game goes," Knighton said. "We can't dwell on this. We still have games at hand with other teams, so we'll regroup when we get back in here early next week and prep for Chivas. We need to come out firing against Chivas."
