The Chicago Fire and Columbus Crew SC look to end losing streaks when the struggling Eastern Conference foes meet at SeatGeek Stadium Wednesday night.
The Fire (5-9-7) are coming off back-to-back defeats, including a 2-1 loss to FC Cincinnati at home Saturday. Chicago trailed 45 seconds after kickoff when Allan Cruz scored the quickest goal in FC Cincinnati history. Nico Gaitan leveled in first-half stoppage time on the rebound of his own saved penalty kick. But Fanendo Adi scored the decisive goal for the visitors in the 83rd minute.
The Crew (5-14-2) have lost five straight games and have just one win in their last 15 games after a 1-0 defeat at Orlando Saturday at Exploria Stadium. Gyasi Zardes put a shot off the crossbar in the first half and missed an open header after Benji Michel put the Lions in front with his first MLS goal in the 84th minute.
