Matt Fondy wasn't without a club for very long.
Waived by Chivas USA on June 26, the forward has been picked up by the Chicago Fire, the club announced on Saturday.
Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Fondy, 24, joined Chivas USA in August 2013 after starring for USL PRO side LA Blues. He made his MLS debut against the Seattle Sounders on September 4, 2013, and appeared in eight matches over the next year.
A graduate of UC Santa Cruz, Fondy will be available when the
Fire take on Sporting Kansas City
on Sunday (3 pm ET, ESPN).
