DALLAS, TX - The Dallas Burn today announced the acquisition of a third round selection in the 2005 MLS SuperDraft from Chicago in exchange for one of Dallas' two remaining discovery selections. The Chicago Fire immediately used this discovery selection by signing Costa Rican international Andy Herron. Herron will occupy the Fire's third and final Senior International spot. Following this move, Dallas has one remaining 2004 discovery selection.
"With the transfer window closing September 15th, it was unlikely that we were going to be able to use both discovery selections", said President and General Manager Greg Elliott. "We are thrilled to gain this third round selection in 2005 as it's very important for teams to be able to acquire SuperDraft picks, especially with 2005 being an expansion year for the league".
