Srimmage Cancelled
Due to poor field conditions on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University, Saturday's scheduled scrimmage between D.C. United and the Richmond Kickers has been canceled. United had hoped to use the match as a final tune-up for Wednesday's CONCACAF Champions Cup game against Harbour View FC of Jamaica. The Black-and-Red will instead train Saturday at the club's training facilities before taking Sunday off.
Both
individual tickets
and
group tickets
to the Harbour View match remain available. The game will be televised live nationally by Fox Soccer Channel. Audio commentary will also be available via www.dcunited.com. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
New Face
Joining United on trial beginning today is Odvan Gomes Silva. The Brazilian defender has a distinguished playing career, which includes stints with legendary Brazilian clubs such as Vasco de Gama, Santos, Botafogo, Coritiba and Fluminense. He has also been capped 11 times with the Brazilian National Team and was a member of the 1999 Copa America championship side.
