When Atlanta United searched to fill the role vacated by Paul McDonough, who left to become the sporting director of Inter Miami last month, they didn’t have to go far.
The club hired Chase Falivene as director of player administration, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Falivene, who spent the last 11 years as manager of football administration with the Atlanta Falcons, started on Monday.
Falivene, who was responsible for player contracts and salary cap research and analysis with the NFL club, will handle player contracts and the MLS salary structure, according to club president Darren Eagles.
“We’re going from strength to strength and can’t afford to rest on our laurels,” Eales said.
Falivene will also oversee player transactions for Atlanta United 2, the club’s USL affiliate, as well as budgeting and finances for the team’s technical programs.
According to the AJC, Atlanta is also planning on hiring a video analyst for an expanding scouting department.
“We’re not just scouting North America,” Eales said. “We’re scouting the world.”
