David Ospina may not have taken the field for Arsenal on Thursday in the Gunners' 2-1 win in the 2016 AT&T MLS All-Star Game, but the Colombian appears to like what he sees in MLS.
The goalkeeper, who sat out the game as Petr Cech and Emiliano Martinez featured, spent a few weeks in the United States earlier this summer representing his country at the Copa America Centenario. He spoke briefly about the rising quality of MLS after the game, with the likes of David Villa, Kaká, Sebastian Giovinco, Andrea Pirlo among many others representing MLS on the night.
“MLS has improved a lot with all these signings," he explained. "They are going to make this league grow more and look more inviting for all of us.”
Does that mean Ospina will look to make the move to MLS at some point in his career?
“Why not?" the 27-year-old remarked. "The league is growing and this is a great country.”
