American Exports: Weekend preview

Clint Dempsey has never scored against Liverpool at Anfield.

AMSTERDAM â€” For yet another busy weekend of action in Europe, we have this handy primer of matches involving American Exports. All times are ET.

BUNDESLIGA

Eintracht Frankfurt vs. Borussia Dortmund

Saturday, 9:30 a.m. on GolTV/Dish German Sports

American: Ricardo Clark (EF)

The former Houston Dynamo star could get his first start of the season against the runaway league leaders, and believe it or not, it could be in central defense. Eintracht, who are without regular back-liners Chris and Marco Russ, have failed to win their last four home games with Dortmund. The visitors will arrive fit, with the exception of captain Sebastian Kehl.

[inlinenode:324102]FC Nuremberg vs. Hannover 96

Saturday, 9:30 a.m. on Dish German Sports

Americans: DaMarcus Beasley, Steve Cherundolo (H96)

The banged-up American duo are expected to dress, with Cherundolo slated for his usual right back place. The Reds will be taking aim at a sixth straight win and second place with a road trip that has been kind of late, with a win and three draws in the last five visits to Nuremberg. Karim Haggui returns for the visitors as top scorer Didier Konan Ya goes to the shelf. Defender Per Nilsson will be absent for the 11th-place hosts.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Liverpool vs. Fulham

Saturday, 12:30 p.m. on Fox Soccer Channel

Americans: Clint Dempsey, Eddie Johnson (FUL)

Sure starter Dempsey is famous for goals scored against Liverpool at home, but has yet to tally at Anfield, where Fulham have managed consecutive scoreless draws. The Cottagers remain without strikers Moussa Dembélé and Bobby Zamora, giving Johnson another shot at sub minutes. Former Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is expected to get the boost of skipper Steven Gerrard's return.

[inlinenode:316605]Sunderland vs. Bolton

Saturday, 7:45 a.m. on ESPN2/ESPN3.com

American: Stuart Holden (BOL)

Fresh off his big derby winner, Holden and friends head east for a brunch-time European positioning duel with another improved side. Sunderland have won three of the last four meetings at the Stadium of Light, including a 4-0 whitewash in March. Bolton will invade fully fit, but the Black Cats are missing Titus Bramble, Anton Ferdinand and Michael Turner in defense.

JUPILER LEAGUE

Club Brugge vs. Anderlecht

Sunday, 7 a.m.

American: Sacha Kljestan (AND)

The US midfielder could cede his starting place with both Mbark Boussoufa and Lucas Biglia hoping to return for the biggest derby in Belgium. Meanwhile, Club are planning to get back Karel Geraerts, Carl Hoefkens and perhaps starting netminder Stijn Stijnen. Anderlecht are a point off the top as they head to Bruges, where last season's victory made it two wins and three draws from the last seven visits.
