AMSTERDAM — Aalborg BK forwards Chris Rolfe and Marcus Tracy have each taken a step back on the road to recovery from nagging injuries.
Rolfe, who has not played since late last season due to a bum hamstring, had been set for midweek action with the reserves before leaving training early on Monday with a flare-up.
"It seems like a minor setback," Rolfe told MLSsoccer.com on Tuesday. "But like this injury has already taught me, time will tell."
Meanwhile, the news is considerably worse for Tracy, who has been sidelined by tendonitis in both knees since December of 2009.
"He's in the US for surgery," AaB sport director Lynge Jacobsen told MLSsoccer.com on Wednesday. "I don't think he'll play this season. Hopefully, he will be ready [for midseason training camp] in January. It is a shame for him and for the club."
Without their American attackers, Aalborg stand bottom in the SAS Liga through 11 games. They possess the second-lowest goal total in the league ahead of Saturday's trip to SønderjyskE.
