American Exports: No timetable for recovery yet for Julian Green following shoulder injury

Julian Green makes his USMNT debut vs Mexico

AMSTERDAM – Bayern Munich II attack prodigy Julian Green has undergone an exam on his left shoulder after suffering an injury during his US national team debut against Mexico last week.

The 18-year-old Tampa native came up lame after an awkward fall to the turf midway through his 31-minute shift in Wednesday night's friendly. Green then missed out on his reserve team's 2-0 derby victory at SpVgg Bayern Hof on Sunday.

A Bayern spokesman told MLSsoccer.com on Monday the club had not yet received word on the severity of the injury.

Against Mexico, Green became the second German-American to see action under USMNT boss Jurgen Kliinsmann before debuting in league play for his club, following the 2012 unveiling of then-Borussia Dortmund II forward Terrence Boyd.

This season, Green has notched 15 goals and eight assists for the Regionalliga Bayern table toppers, with this time split between center forward and his natural wing position. The youngster also saw a three-minute Champions League cameo against CSKA Moscow in November for his first team debut with the European treble holders.
