AMSTERDAM – Recovering Stoke City midfielder Maurice Edu will not be going out on loan before Monday's transfer window close, MLSsoccer.com has learned.
The 27-year-old has elicited loan interest out of the French and Turkish top flight, but it did not sway his desire to finally break through at the Britannia.
"Mo is staying at Stoke at this point," Edu's agent, Lyle Yorks, told MLSsoccer.com. "Now, he will try to fit into the mix."
Edu made his return from sports hernia surgery for Stoke's reserves on August 19 and has now gone the distance in consecutive Under-21 Premier League matches. He made just one EPL appearance for the Potters last season before enjoying a successful loan stint with Bursaspor in the second semester.
The US international will see his next chance for a season debut when fifth place Stoke welcome Manchester City on Saturday.
