Fiorentina have signed Juventus midfielder Sergio Almiron on a season-long loan deal.
The 27-year-old made just nine appearances for the Old Lady last season after joining from Empoli, and arrives in Florence looking to revive his career at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
"My time in Tuscany with Empoli was highly positive. The trust and the warmth of the Fiorentina fans and the club will help inspire me back to my best," Almiron announced at his official presentation on Tuesday.
"I chose the come to Florence because Fiorentina have been following me for some time.
"My objective is to be better than last season and I will put all my effort into that."
The Viola announced the news on Tuesday afternoon on their official website, www.acffiorentina.it.
A statement read: "Fiorentina would like to announce that they have signed Almiron from Juventus on a temporary basis with the option for a co-ownership agreement at the end of the contract."
The announcement follows the news that Romanian forward Adrian Mutu has finally put pen to paper on his contract which will keep him at the club until 2012.
