It’s lit at Allianz Field.
The sparkling new home of Minnesota United, which will be unveiled for the start of the 2019 season, put on an impressive light show Thursday night as the club tested the interior LED lighting and scoreboard.
The glow, which could be seen for miles, changed from dark purple to green and red, creating a festive scene during the holiday season.
“Last night’s lighting of Allianz Field was an interior testing of the scoreboard and the interior LED lighting. This was a one time testing of the scoreboard lighting,” club spokesman Eric Durkee told the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.
Durkee also said to expect multiple colors to match certain occasions.
"There are of course no-brainers such as red, white and blue on the 4th of July, green for St. Patrick’s Day, rainbow colors for our Pride Match and things of that nature,” he said.
The 19,400-seat stadium is scheduled to open its doors for the club’s home opener against New York City FC on April 13.
