Albright injures knee with U.S. team

Chris Albright made seven appearances for the U.S. national team in 2005.

and assuming he's match-fit -- Albright's participation in the Galaxy's MLS opener does not appear to be in doubt. It seems definite, however, that the 27-year-old will miss out on the Red, White and Blue's first three friendlies of the year: vs. Canada on Jan. 22, vs. Norway on Jan. 29, and vs. Japan on Feb. 10. The USA's Feb. 19 match against Guatemala is another question mark.

Albright has experienced a resurgence in the national team picture since moving to right back from his former position as a striker. He didn't make a single appearance in 2002 or 2003, then earned a single cap in 2004 and seven in 2005. Five of his appearances last year came in World Cup qualifying matches.
