Mexican striker Alan Pulido told reporters on Thursday night that he expects to move to MLS this winter, stating that he feels ready for new challenges and a new environment after three years at Chivas de Guadalajara.
"Most likely I'll go to MLS, there are some important teams there that are interested in me," he said. The 28-year-old has already been linked to the San Jose Earthquakes and Orlando City SC, while ESPN now reports that Chicago Fire FC and Sporting Kansas City have also expressed interest in him.
Pulido has a year and a half left on his current contract.
"The reality is I'm happy, I love the team, but I feel like I've completed all the dreams I had here," said Pulido. "I won everything I had to win and a change wouldn't be at all bad."
A product of Tigres UANL's youth system who also tried his hand in Europe with a stint in Greece, Pulido helped Chivas win both Liga MX and Copa MX titles in 2017 and the 2018 Concacaf Champions League trophy, both achievements overseen by coach Matias Almeyda, now in charge of the Quakes.
On an individual level, Pulido also earned Best XI status in the 2017 Clausura, goal of the tournament honors in both Liga MX and CCL and finished as the co-top scorer in the 2019 Apertura.
