There will come a time when fans again cheer their MLS heroes inside stadiums, including a few new facilities.
Columbus Crew SC are one of a few clubs with a stadium currently under construction. And as the summer of 2021 draws closer, the club took to Twitter to reveal some additional new renderings that show what fans can expect once the downtown venue opens.
Centered in downtown Columbus, the Crew’s new stadium is expected to be a $230-million, 20,000-capacity venue on a 33-acre site. Beyond the stadium, the project includes a riverfront park, nearly 1,000 new residential units and office and commercial space.
When the Crew's new stadium comes online, their current home of MAPFRE Stadium would be repurposed into a community sports park.
