Four members of TFC Academy have been called into the Canada U-17 team to travel to Mexico this month. They will play a series of matches to help prepare for next year's FIFA U-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009.

TFC U-17s Brennan McNicoll, Jonathon Lao, Allando Matheson and Garret Cyprus have all been selected for the team after impressing at a training camp held last month. Canada will play five exhibition matches against local club teams from November 21 to December 3, including Chivas, Atlas and Tecos.

"This is the first opportunity for this group to be together," said Canada U-17 coach Sean Fleming. "I hope to see the players rise to the occasion and show that they can compete against very good competition in the CONCACAF climate. With qualification coming quickly, this project will be an important step to starting to form the team for the CONCACAF Men's Under-17 Championship."
