In his MLS debut with Montreal, defensive midfielder Samuel Piette proved himself an Impact signing -- so much so that his first match in the league was followed up with a spot on the MLS Team of the Week.
The 22-year-old Canadian international, signed earlier this month from Spanish side CD Izarra, bossed the middle of the park and closed down Philadelphia's attack in Saturday's 3-0 away victory, which also saw Blerim Dzemaili bag a brace and earn another berth for Montreal on this week's XI.
The Impact weren't the only Canadian side to land two players on the first team, either. Toronto FC's Justin Morrow (two goals, one assist) and Marky Delgado (one goal, one assist) were both honored after the Reds broke out in the second half to steamroll Portland 4-1 on Saturday.
New York City FC also had two first-teamers emerge from their 2-0 blanking of the LA Galaxy on Saturday, as the Eastern Conference landed eight of the top XI spots. David Villa was his usual dangerous self, widening his Golden Boot lead with his 18th goal of the season -- and Sean Johnson was a one-man highlight reel in goal, with five acrobatic saves.
